Kona Coffee Cookies

Kona Coffee CookiesFebruary 4, 2013—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read, price & availability may have changed.

If you are an aficionado of both coffee and cookies, like we are, we probably had you at hello. If you need a little help imagining the combination of coffee and cookies, allow us to expound—we kind of love expounding, and truly appreciate the opportunity to do so.

Trader Joe's Kona Coffee Creamy Half-Dipped Shortbread Cookies are rich, buttery shortbread cookies blended with bits of coffee beans harvested from the volcanic slopes of Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii. Kona produces some of the world's best coffee beans, with bright, full flavor, and here they provide a good balance to the smooth sweetness of the shortbread. Because we can't seem to get too much of a good thing, we've given these cookies yet another perk, so to speak—even more Kona coffee. Half of each cookie is dipped in a sweet, creamy icing, and the icing is studded with ground Kona coffee beans. Delightful. Delicious. Delovely. And a great value.  Cookies made with Kona coffee can command a crazy price. But ours are nicely priced at $2.99 for each 7.5 ounce box. The only thing that could make them better would be a cup of coffee…
