Shortcake Biscuits

April 30, 2012 - Fearlessly Archived - Still a fun read, price & availability may have changed.

As spring prepares to head into summer, a bounty of berries and other, summertime-specific fruits start to show their true colors. Big, vibrant colors – reds and blues from the berries, with more subtle hues from stone fruits like peaches, nectarines, plums and apricots. Where there are berries, we believe there should be shortcake. And so, as if by a stroke of magic, Trader Joe’s Shortcake Biscuits have made their appearance.

Crafted exclusively for Trader Joe’s using copious amounts of real butter, these Shortcake Biscuits have a scone-like texture that loves the juiciness of fresh (or frozen) fruit. The rich, crumbly biscuits are easy to slice in half, readying them to soak up the fruit’s juices. With a dollop (or two) of our House Whip or whipped cream on top, you can have “homemade” shortcake desserts in your house in a fraction of the time it would take you to make them from scratch. And, given the price of butter, cream and buttermilk, at a fraction of the price it would cost you to make them at home.

We’re selling each 10 ounce package of four Shortcake Biscuits for $2.99. You’ll find them in our fresh bakery section.
