Sure, you’ve heard of chicken nuggets, and perhaps you’ve had the pleasure of enjoying the fish nuggets we offer here at Trader Joe’s, but we’ll venture a guess that unless you’ve been prowling our freezer cases, you’ve never had Tofu Edamame Nuggets. We can be relatively sure about this, because Trader Joe’s Tofu Edamame Nuggets are made exclusively for us, so you won’t find them anywhere else. Tricky, huh?
We can also be relatively sure that if you’re a fan of edamame (green soy beans), these will hook you. Originally developed to make tofu tastier – a feat they accomplish with panache – these Nuggets are tofu-based, with whole soybeans, shredded carrots and onions. They bake up crispy on the outside; inside, the tofu is delicate and smooth, while the edamame & carrots provide a bit of toothsome texture. Each savory serving is packed with 11 grams of vegetarian protein, with no cholesterol or trans fats. A quick & wholesome afternoon snack, Tofu Edamame Nuggets are also good for lunch or as the main course for dinner. Dip them in ketchup, ranch or sweet chili sauce. Or use them to make Mex-Asian fusion tacos, burritos or lettuce cups.
