Freeze Dried Raspberries or Red Seedless Grapes

Freeze Dried Raspberries or Red Seedless GrapesFebruary 6, 2012 - Fearlessly Archived - Still a fun read, price & availability may have changed.

We've talked a bit in previous Fearless Flyers about how freeze dried fruits have gone from camping staple to mainstream snack food. If you still haven't tried these flavor-packed, crunchy treats, now's the time. With the addition of Freeze Dried Raspberries and Freeze Dried Red Seedless Grapes, we have even more options than ever before.

Trader Joe's Freeze Dried Raspberries and Freeze Dried Red Seedless Grapes are whole raspberries and grapes that have undergone a special freeze-drying process so they remain extremely flavorful, but unlike conventionally dried berries, they're free of added sugar and they pack a bit of a crunch. Check out the ingredients listed on their packages: Freeze Dried Fruit. That's it.  Gotta love wholesome snacks. They're great for snacking anytime—we've discovered that kids, especially, find them not only delicious but fascinating as well. We like to add them to cereals for a little extra flavor and crunch, they make excellent on-the-go snacks, and of course, they're perfectly at home on the trail, as part of a mix or on their own.

Both of these varieties come in 1.2 ounce resealable bags—it takes about 8.4 ounces of fresh, ripe raspberries and six ounces of juicy grapes to produce the freeze dried fruit inside these bags. We're selling Freeze Dried Raspberries for $3.99 and Freeze Dried Red Seedless Grapes for $2.99.  We recommend that you keep the bag tightly sealed after opening to preserve the crunch, though to be honest, they don’t usually last long enough to lose it.
