Chocolate Filled French Toast

Did you read that correctly? Why yes, yes you did. That headline does say Chocolate Filled French Toast. And really, you should check it out. We start with rich brioche dough, made just for us, in small batches, by a trusted bakery partner in Northern California. They stuff the dough with copious amounts of dark chocolate and bake it 'til the dough is a golden hue and the chocolate is good and melt-y. The individual portions are frozen, packed and shipped directly to us, where we have the distinct pleasure of offering them to you.
We call it French Toast, but please don’t let that limit how you perceive it. You can of course serve it for breakfast with fresh fruit—your kids would love you for that. It will also make a splash at a brunch buffet and is equally at home as an après dinner dessert—we humbly recommend an accompanying scoop of vanilla ice cream if the dessert presentation is chosen.
Preparation is a snap: pop the individual portions into the microwave for less than two minutes and you're done. (You can use a conventional oven as well; cooking time will be longer.) Because these are frozen and heat so quickly, you can keep some in your freezer to enjoy whenever the mood strikes. For us, that mood is… right about now. Or really anytime. We’re selling each 10 ounce box of two Trader Joe’s Chocolate Filled French Toast for $3.49.
