TJ's Grand Reserve Chardonnay Santa Lucia

Grand Reserve Chardonnay Santa Lucia Highlands 201

September 25th, 2017—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.

In the hierarchy of wines that feature the Trader Joe’s name, the Grand Reserve label (and its silvery cousin, Platinum) is the pinnacle of our philosophy of quality plus price equals value. You need only to take a sip of Trader Joe’s Grand Reserve Chardonnay Santa Lucia Highlands 2016 to understand just how seriously we take this concept of value. This is a serious wine from the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA, located just west of the Salinas River, within the larger Monterey AVA. Fifty percent of the wine was aged for six months in American oak, and the other 50% in French oak for the same span. It’s crisp and elegant, with a very fruit-forward bouquet, citrus notes up front, and a bit of butter and oak on the finish. While it’s a serious wine, we don’t recommend waiting for serious occasions to enjoy it. When a wine tastes this good and you can have it for $12.99* a bottle, it deserves to be enjoyed whenever the mood strikes. Pair it with pasta salad, barbecued chicken, or summertime shellfish.

*TJ Grand Reserve Santa Lucia Chardonnay is currently available in Trader Joe's stores where wine is sold. It is $12.99 plus tax. Alcohol availability & price may vary due to state laws, taxes, shipment fees & other such stuff.
