Plumcots

Plumcots

September 25th, 2017—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.

Among the best parts of summer, in our humble opinion, are stone fruits. Peaches and plums, nectarines and apricots, and all of the variations and combinations of these, can turn an ordinary day into a spectacular one. This is no exaggeration. We have this experience daily at this time of year. One of our favorite modern stone fruit families are the Plumcots. These plum-apricot hybrids come in for too-few weeks each summer, and leave us wanting more. Throughout their short season, multiple varieties of Plumcots will make an appearance on our shelves – each for a limited window of time. It’s challenging to predict exactly which varieties we’ll have on a given day – crops being fickle and all – but we do know that right around now the Plumcots you’ll find at Trader Joe’s are red-skinned, red-fleshed cultivars that are bursting with vibrant flavors. If stone fruits are your thing, but you haven’t yet discovered the Plumcot, now’s your chance.

We’re selling them in a one pound package for $2.79*, throughout the season.

*Ounces, price and availability may vary by region. Currently Trader Joe's Plumcots are $2.79 in our West Coast and Texas stores, and $2.99 in our East Coast, Midwest and Southeast stores.
