TJ’s Reserve Chardonnay Sonoma County 2014

June 5th, 2017—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.

One of the most important things to know about wines that bear the Trader Joe’s Reserve label is that if you bought them somewhere else, with a different name on the bottle, they’d cost you significantly more than what you’ll pay for them at Trader Joe’s. Why? We get these wines from very reputable winemakers who simply find themselves with too much of a good thing. They have large quantities of wine to sell; we have cash upfront to buy that wine; you win with delicious wine at an excellent price.

Trader Joe’s Reserve Chardonnay Sonoma County 2014 (Lot #148) is crafted with a blend of Chardonnay grapes from two specific vineyards in Sonoma. One lies near highway 101, near the Russian River towns of Santa Rosa & Windsor; the other, in the heart of the Alexander Valley. The first vineyard’s soil is loamy, with prodigious amounts of pebbles; the second vineyard has soil rich in volcanic minerality. Together, the grapes from those disparate roots come together to become a Chardonnay that presents in the classic Sonoma style – unoaked; balanced and light; melon, passionfruit, and subtle grapefruit on the nose; delivering a creamy mouthfeel that finishes soft and smooth. It makes an excellent aperitif, and is a natural with the light fare of late spring suppers – green salads, grilled chicken, Cheese Tortellini, and Tofu or Shrimp Spring Rolls are all excellent companions.

We’re selling each 750ml bottle of Trader Joe’s Reserve Chardonnay Sonoma County 2014 for $9.99*, every day, while it lasts.

*Reserve Sonoma Chardonnay is currently available in Trader Joe's stores where wine is sold. It is $9.99 plus tax. Alcohol availability & price may vary due to state laws, taxes, shipment fees & other such stuff.
