Petiole Pinot Noir

Petiole Pinot Noir

June 5th, 2017—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.

In botany, the petiole is the part of a plant connecting leaf to stem. In wine, Petiole is a Pinot Noir from Oregon’s Willamette Valley connecting drinker to deliciousness. This 150 mile long valley, stretching roughly from Eugene to Portland, is home to some of the country’s best Pinot Noir vineyards – the alluvial soils of the waterway-rich region are ideal for cultivation of this particular grape.

Crafted for us by one of Oregon’s premier winemakers, Petiole Pinot Noir represents the best of what this highly desirable growing region has to offer. The grapes, harvested in 2015, have been vinified and aged for 14 months. In the glass, ripe strawberry and Marionberry aromas blend with subtle, sweet oak and notes of toffee and vanilla. If you’re really paying attention, you might even get a bit of bergamot on the nose. Soft raspberry and red currant flavors mingle with dried cherry and bittersweet chocolate highlights, and lead to a dry, smooth finish. Enjoy Petiole Pinot Noir with a cheese course, or an Angus Burger fresh off the grill.

We’re selling each 750ml bottle of Petiole Pinot Noir for $9.99*, a price that truly connects shopper to value.
