Grass Fed Angus Ground Beef

Grass Fed Angus Ground Beef

June 5th, 2017—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.

Trader Joe’s Grass Fed Angus Ground Beef comes from Black Angus cattle raised without the use of artificial growth hormones on the vast, lush pasturelands of New Zealand.  The cattle are 100% grass fed, grazing on wide-open pastures – the heritage of the cattle, combined with their diet of natural greens, results in richly-flavored, well-marbled beef.

This particular Grass Fed Angus Ground Beef is labeled 85/15 – this refers to the ratio of lean to fat, meaning it’s 85% lean. Unlike some conventionally raised beef with the same lean-to-fat ratio, grass fed beef doesn’t take on a heavy or fatty taste; rather, it’s full-flavored, clean-tasting, and boldly beefy. It makes brilliant burgers, of course. Imagine a Grass Fed Angus burger on sourdough toast (See Sourdough). Of course, use it as you prefer to use ground beef – tacos, casseroles, meatloaf… Trader Joe’s Grass Fed Angus Ground Beef will be marvelous any way you choose to prepare it.

We’re selling each one pound package for $5.99, the same marvelous price we’ve had since 2011. Now that’s a marvel! You’ll find it in our freezers.

Ingredients: 100% Angus Beef.
