You may be familiar with limoncello. It’s a lemon-flavored spirit that is enormously popular in Italy as a pre- or post-dinner beverage. Our customers like it, too – we’ve been selling Trader Giotto’s Limoncello for some time now.
In that same spirit (the spirit of flavored spirits), we’re introducing Trader Giotto’s Coffeecello Liqueur. Just as limoncello gets its lemon flavor from real lemon zest, our Coffeecello derives its flavor from real coffee beans. Our Italian supplier extracts the coffee flavor and aroma from dark-roasted Arabica beans, then infuses neutral alcohol with this rich flavor. Sugar is added for balance, as well as water, to temper the spirit’s strength. The result is a 53-proof Liqueur (that’s 26% alcohol by volume) that presents a robust coffee flavor, arrives velvety smooth on the palate, and brings along a partnering sweetness that yields notes of fruit, chocolate, and nuts.
Enjoy Coffeecello at room temperature, or gently warmed with a touch of cream. It’s also fantastic served cold in a chilled shot glass (a popular way to serve limoncello). What better finish to an Italian meal with friends, than with a round of Coffeecello shots? Buonissiumo!
For a limited time, you’ll find the elegantly slender, frosted-glass, 375ml bottle of Trader Giotto’s Coffeecello at Trader Joe’s for $7.99*. It’s on the shelves with our larger selection of fine spirits. (Available in stores where spirits are sold.)
