We’ve long carried lowfat kefir. Recently, after receiving numerous Customer requests, we’ve brought in two Whole Milk Kefir flavors, Mango and Vanilla. They’re fermented (cultured) for 14-16 hours, about 12 hours more than the culturing time for most yogurt. The added time allows the 12 active cultures to feast on the natural lactose in the milk, resulting in a drink that’s creamy, smooth, a little tart, and ever-so-slightly fizzy. Each serving also provides eight grams of protein. It’s also 99% lactose free and an excellent source of vitamin D and calcium. Add a cup of Trader Joe’s Whole Milk Mango Kefir or Whole Milk Vanilla Kefir to your morning routine, enjoy a cup in the afternoon – it’s a terrific pick-me-up – or add it to a smoothie recipe to kick things up a bit.

Mango: Cultured Pasteurzied Milk (whole milk, vitamin D3), Cane Sugar, Pectin Blend (nonfat dry milk, pectin), Natural Mango with Other Natural Flavors, Organic Annatto Extract (for color), Live Active Cultures (L. casei, L. lactis, L. acidophilus, L. plantarum, L. phamnosus, B. bacterium longum, leuconostoc cremoris, B. bacterium breve, Streptococcus diacetylactis, saccharomyces florentinus, L. reuteri, B. lactis). Cultured after pasteurization.

Vanilla: Cultured Pasteurized Milk (whole milk, vitamin D3), Cane Sugar, Pectin blend (nonfat dry milk, pectin), Natural Vanilla with Other Natural Flavors, Live Active Cultures (L. casei, L. lactis, L. acidophilus, L. plantarum, L. rhamnosus, B. bacerium longum, leuconostoc cremoris, B. bacterium breve, streptococcus diacetylactis, saccharomyces florentinus, L. reuteri, B. lactis).
