Sprouted Multi-Grain Bread
Trader Joe’s Sprouted Multi-Grain Bread is a “must try.” You could say it’s the best thing since sliced bread. In fact, it is sliced bread. It also happens to be one of the best-tasting sliced breads we’ve encountered in our bread-eating adventures.
Trader Joe’s Sprouted Multi-Grain Bread is made for us with organic, high protein, sprouted wheat berries, along with an organic grain mixture made from millet, rye, corn, oats, cracked wheat, flax seeds and sunflower seeds. It’s lower in carbs than traditional breads made with refined flour. Here’s how it works… sprouting wheat berries helps convert their complex starches to simpler sugars, making them easier to digest, and increasing their calcium, iron, and protein levels compared to their non-sprouted counterparts. They also retain that wonderfully nutty flavor that makes whole wheat such a favorite. This particular Sprouted Multi-Grain Bread boasts five grams of protein and two grams of fiber per slice – if you’re using it to make a traditional sandwich, you’re getting four grams of fiber and a whopping ten grams of protein from your bread!
