Wasabi Arugula

June 14, 2011 - Fearlessly Archived - Still a fun read, price & availability may have changed.

Arugula was pretty esoteric not too many years ago. These days, it has become decidedly mainstream. For all you arugula lovers out there, we now have a new variety, Wasabi Arugula. Wasabi Arugula has the earthy, peppery flavor of traditional arugula, the small leaves associated with "wild" arugula, and a little extra pepper punch that tastes a little like, you guessed it, wasabi.

You can use Wasabi Arugula in a salad just as you would the traditional varieties, either on its own or mixed with more mild greens. We like it with Crumbled Goat Cheese and Fat Free Balsamic Vinaigrette. We also like it atop burgers in place of the traditional lettuce leaves, and it's quite interesting served atop a pizza - trust us on this one. We're selling each seven ounce bag of Wasabi Arugula for $2.29, a terrific price for these unique greens.
