Schloss Biebrich Sekt

Schloss Biebrich Sekt

December 1, 2014—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.

First, a little linguistics lesson. Sekt is the German term for sparkling wine.  While the origins of this terminology remain in dispute more than a century after its adoption, there is one fact of which we are sure:  Germans consume more sparkling wine per capita than anyone else on the planet.

Schloss Biebrich Sekt is one of our all-time favorites of the German sparklers, and it's been a perennial favorite in our stores since we introduced it more than 30 years ago. It's a crisp, clean, off-dry (semi-sweet), easy-drinking wine with tiny bubble streams and the pronounced, straightforward  essences of yellow apple and ripe apricot. Its Champagne-style nose and finely finessed fizz make it ideal for a toast at your holiday table or for ringing in the new year, Schloss Biebrich Sekt is also ideally priced at just $5.49* for a 750 ml bottle.

* Schloss Biebrich Sparkling Sekt is currently available in Trader Joe's stores where wine is sold. It is $5.49 plus tax unless otherwise noted here: NV, NM, ID, KY, OH, MN, NH, NJ, GA, FL: $5.99; CO: $6.99. Alcohol availability & price may vary due to state laws, taxes, shipment fees & other such stuff. (If we could, we would.)
