Scallops Wrapped in Bacon
December 1, 2014—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.
Oh, bacon. How do we love thee? As much as we'd like to be as eloquent as The Bard, we're afraid that when it comes to bacon, our tongues get tied… in bacon. We're fans of most bacon-inclusive dishes, and we've experienced firsthand the joy that spontaneously erupts in kitchens when bacon is on the menu, whether it's for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Add scallops and sweetness to that menu, and the joy is nearly beyond containment (though really, who would want to contain joy?)
Trader Joe's Scallops Wrapped in Uncured Bacon with Brown Sugar Glaze start with fresh, sweet sea scallops that are wrapped with uncured bacon. Once wrapped, they're speared with wooden skewers and generously drizzled with a sweet brown sugar glaze. Oh, sweet goodness! These tempting little morsels make excellent hors d'oeuvres, of course, and can also serve as a satisfying main course on a busy, holiday-season night - add a green salad and a loaf of crusty bread and the fan club will be duly impressed. And while they may seem fancy, these sweet-savory bites are also right at home with a beer while watching a ball game. Be prepared, though. Once word gets out that you're serving Scallops Wrapped in Bacon, you may have more guests than you'd originally invited.
We're selling each 7.5 ounce box of 10 Scallops Wrapped in Bacon for $6.99, the same price we've had since 2011. You'll find them in our freezers.
