Remember the old cartoon great, The Scarlet Pumpernickel? The one where Daffy Duck writes a parody of The Scarlet Pimpernel and tries to sell it to the head of a movie studio? Well, Trader Joe's Pumpernickel Pretzels have absolutely nothing to do with that, but it was the only interesting pumpernickel reference we could find.
Truthfully, Trader Joe's Pumpernickel Pretzels don't need any interesting references, because they're plenty interesting all by themselves. These are pretzel sticks with a pumpernickel twist, meaning in addition to the traditional wheat flour used in pretzel-making, we've added generous amounts of stone ground rye flour. The rye gives these pretzels their distinctive pumpernickel flavor. Pumpernickel Pretzels are delicious right out of the bag, and make a great party snack served alongside a ramekin of spicy mustard for dipping.
We're selling each nine ounce bag of Trader Joe's Pumpernickel Pretzels for the downright "daffy" price of $1.49.
