Calling All Bakers!
Chips, Chips, & More Chips!

Though autumn officially begins in September, October is the unofficial start of baking season. And when baking is in season, chips become a necessity. We don’t mean potato chips. Or the English kind. We mean baking chips, of the Chocolate, White Chocolate, and Peanut Butter kind.

Trader Joe's Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips are the standard-bearers here. They're made for us with 43.9% cacao and real vanilla extract. They're rich and chocolatey, good on ice cream or frozen yogurt, and absolutely great in baked goods. Our White Chocolate Baking Chips are made with real cocoa butter and vanilla extract. Most so-called white chocolate chips on the market are actually "compound," and don’t contain any cocoa butter at all. The cocoa butter not only makes them taste better, but we think it adds to their excellent meltability as well. And then we have the Peanut Butter Baking Chips. These are made with peanut flour, which gives them exceptionally peanutty flavor. We've included a delicious cookie recipe on the bag, and these chips also shine in brownies, cupcakes, or melted into cake frosting.

Peanut Butter and White Chocolate Chips come in 10 ounce bags. Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips come in a 12 ounce bag. All are available at your neighborhood Trader Joe's for the excellent price of $1.99 a bag. Let the baking begin!
