Orange is the color of hipness these days. Just walk into your neighborhood Trader Joe's and you'll see. Our stores are resplendent in orange right now… primarily pumpkin orange. Of course, it's Pumpkin Season, so our orange obsession is understandable. Nowhere does that pumpkin orange make a bigger (and we mean this literally) statement than with our Orange Pumpkins, the great-size-for-carving variety that you look for when jack-o-lanterns or freshly roasted seeds are on your mind. Crop variation being what it is, these gourds will vary in exact size and weight, but each is Pumpkin is perfect in its own way.
How does one pick a perfect carving pumpkin? It should feel firm and heavy for its size, should be free of soft spots, and its orange color should be pretty uniform. If you're planning to carve, make sure it sits flat before you start - unless, of course, you want a lopsided jack-o-lantern. And some people do want them lopsided; trust us on this.
While we can't guarantee exact size or shape, we do guarantee an excellent selection, and we do guarantee a phenomenal price. We're selling Orange Pumpkins, for $2.99-$3.49 (price varies by growing region) each, every day - until Pumpkin Season rides off into the night with a creepy headless guy on a horse.
