Pumpkin Cornbread Mix
October 6, 2014—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.
It's the corniest entry into the Pumpkin Season product derby taking place right now at your neighborhood Trader Joe's. And by "corniest", we mean "corny", as in "rich with corn". The kind that grows on farms in the American Midwest. Not the kind you'll find in a 1970's sitcom.
Trader Joe's Pumpkin Cornbread Mix could only have happened in the fall of 2014, when pumpkin fever is at its apex, and harvest-themed comfort foods make perfect sense. Cornbread is among our all-time favorite comfort foods, and the only thing that could possibly improve upon the bliss that is Trader Joe's Cornbread Mix is pumpkin. So we did that. And now there's Trader Joe's Pumpkin Cornbread Mix, a fall-favorite-in-the-making that you'll find only at Trader Joe's. We knew this concept could work, but we'll admit, it took some doing to get it right. Some attempts were too dense; some were far too sweet. Some were way too crumbly; still others came out soggy. And then this one came along - sweet cornbread with real pumpkin, soft and a little crumbly, positively dreamy with a bit of honey or softened butter. It's fulfilled our greatest Pumpkin Cornbread desires. We think it will satisfy yours, too.
Our price will surely satisfy. We're selling each 15 ounce box of Pumpkin Cornbread Mix for $2.49, a venerable value you'll find only at your neighborhood Trader Joe's, and only while Pumpkin Season sticks around. You'll find it in our grocery aisle.
