Back in our freezers just in time for Pumpkin Season, Trader Joe's Pumpkin Macarons are traditional, French-style pastries with a very American twist. Pumpkin, of course.
Like the other macarons you'll find in our freezers, Pumpkin Macarons are smallish, round, sandwich cookies. Unlike the other macarons you'll find in our freezers, these are only available during Pumpkin Season. A common finding in French pâtisseries, macarons (that's mak-ah-ROHNS, not to be confused with macaroons) have become common finds in American bake-shops, and staples here at Trader Joe's. Each macaron features two pumpkin-flavored cookies that are simultaneously chewy (inside) and crispy (outside). The cookies are sandwiched together with a pumpkin custard filling that's been impeccably seasoned with pumpkin pie spices. Unlike others that achieve their electric orange hue with the aid of synthetic colors, ours get their pale orange, pumpkin-y coloring from turmeric and beet juice. They're pumpkilicious.
We're selling each 4.6 ounce box of 12 Pumpkin Macarons for $4.99—that's just under 42¢ per Macaron, a tremendous value that you'll find only at your neighborhood Trader Joe's. You'll find them in our freezers.
