In 2013, we added Trader Joe's Pumpkin Croissants to our Pumpkin Season lineup. We knew going in that we thought it was a good decision. Once the season came to an end and we were able to analyze our data and crunch the numbers (you know, check to see if there were any left in the freezer cases), we were able to affirm that you thought it was a good idea as well. And so they're back for an encore in Pumpkin Season 2014.

Pumpkin Croissants are made for us by the same supplier that makes our other frozen croissants; like those, these are super-simple and super-delicious. Remove from the package, place on a baking sheet and thaw overnight—they'll rise as they thaw; for the uninitiated, this rising is known as "proofing"—then bake in your oven for about 20 minutes. The dough is buttery and bakes to a crispy-on-the-outside, flaky-chewy on the inside finish. They're filled with a rich, creamy, custard-like pumpkin filling and topped with pumpkin seeds—we call this a double-pump(kin).

Pumpkin Croissants will only be around for the duration of Pumpkin Season. If you missed them last year, or if you got some and have missed them since, look for them in our freezer case soon. At $3.99 for each 12 ounce box of four—a WOW value—they're sure to be in high demand, and when they're gone, it will be Pumpkin Season next year before they're back.
