Arugula has been cultivated since the time of the ancient Roman Empire, where it was used as both an edible leaf and a component in the production of olive oil - its seeds were added to give oils a peppery flavor. Try Trader Joe's Organic Arugula in a simple salad with Burrata, toasted pine nuts and a hearty splash of really good extra virgin olive oil. Use it in place of basil for a sharp, pungent take on pesto. It's also excellent on a grilled cheese panini with smoked cheese and Fig Butter. We're selling each seven ounce bag of Trader Joe's Organic Arugula for $2.49*, a price that has us kicking up our heels (like a Rockette?). You'll find it in our refrigerated produce section.
*Ounces, price and availability may vary by region. Currently Trader Joe's Organic Arugula is $2.29 in our West Coast and Texas stores and $2.49 in our East Coast, Midwest and Southeast stores.
