Petit Reserve Petite Sirah Paso Robles 2012

February 3rd—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.

Paso Robles, along California's celebrated Central Coast, is the most unique growing region in California, with the largest swing between high daytime temperatures and low nighttime temperatures.  Cool marine air flows east through the Templeton gap and south from Monterey Bay, while summer days are hot, clear, and generally cloudless. This dramatic fluctuation in temperatures is key to the success of the grape varietals that thrive here, including Petite Sirah (known as Durif in some parts of the world).

Our Petit Reserve wines are exceptional values and excellent reflections of their terroir and varietal.  Petit Reserve Petite Sirah Paso Robles 2012 is an exceptional example of the benefits of Paso's distinctive climate, and the bountiful 2012 harvest, showcasing our favorite Petite Sirah characteristics.  It's full-bodied and wonderfully dry, yet boasts tremendous fruit, with notes of blackberry and black cherry, subtle vanilla-oak flavor, and a long, dry finish with medium tannins.  Enjoy a glass of Petit Reserve Petite Sirah with strong cheeses like Bacon Cheddar or Camembert, or pasta dishes mixed with our Organic Tomato Basil Marinara.

* TJ’s Petit Reserve Petite Sirah Paso Robles is currently available in Trader Joe's stores where wine is sold.
