Organic Grade A Maple Syrup

February 3rd—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.

Called liquid gold by many, real maple syrup is one of nature's finest gifts. Just imagine… you stick a tap in a tree, and out comes this, this gift.  Real maple syrup comes in many colors and flavors, from pale amber with delicate flavor to very dark, rich, caramel-y, maple-- maple syrup.  The color comes from the concentration of minerals in the syrup.  Real maple syrup is given a letter grade upon inspection; this grade is an indication of the intensity of its color and flavor, not of its quality.  Grade A is the lightest in color; Grade C, the darkest.

Trader Joe's Organic Grade A Maple Syrup comes from the Canadian province of Quebec, home to 70% of the world's maple syrup production.  This syrup has good maple aroma, and that maple-y, subtly caramelized flavor that's so identified with real maple syrup.  It's excellent on pancakes and waffles, makes a sweet topping for ice cream, mixes well into hot cereal, and can even be used to sweeten your morning cup of coffee or tea.

We're selling each 12 fluid ounce bottle of Organic Grade A Maple Syrup for $7.99, a terrific price for the real thing.  You'll find it in our grocery aisle.
