Miso Ginger Broth

February 3rd—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.

Trader Joe's Miso Ginger Broth is the newest broth to hit our grocery shelves.  Unlike the chicken, beef, and veggie versions, Miso Ginger Broth is an original creation developed as a joint venture between our buyers and our supplier.  It was inspired by many visits to Japanese restaurants, where our buyers would enjoy bowls of hot miso soup.  We hadn't found anything similar in a ready-to-heat broth, so we set out to make that happen.

Miso Ginger Broth begins with miso, a traditional Japanese seasoning made with fermented soy.  The vegetarian broth has an earthy, mushroom-y flavor, with the fragrant aroma and piquant flavor of ginger. It can be used as cooking liquid for rice, in ramen or udon, or, most traditionally, as the base for a savory miso soup - the simple addition of cubed tofu will make a fulfilling bowl of miso soup that will leave you feeling warm and satisfied.

We're selling Miso Ginger Broth in a 32 fluid ounce, resealable carton, for $1.99, every day.  You'll find it in our grocery aisle. And you'll find it only at your neighborhood Trader Joe's.
