5 Cheese Frusta

February 3rd—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.

Literally translated from Italian to "whip", at Trader Joe's a Frusta is a little something we've whipped up to make it easier for you to enjoy something yummy without having to put much effort into it.  Trader Giotto's 5 Cheese Frusta starts with a uniquely-shaped pizza crust - stretched to an oval shape and topped, then pinch-folded in the middle, by hand, with the toppings exposed on either end.  It's like a figure-8-shaped pizza for one.  More importantly, it's a great-eating figure-8-shaped pizza for one.  It's topped with a light, tomato-herb sauce and five cheeses - Mozzarella, Emmental, Edam, Provolone and Rebekase.  It's wood-fired, rustic-looking, and entirely enjoyable from first look to last bite.

5 Cheese Frusta heats in a 400º oven in about 10 minutes.  Cut it into slices and serve it as an appetizer course, or add a green salad and make it your dinner.  Dinner in about 10 minutes?  We did say the Frusta was going to make yummy a bit easier.  And affordable, too. We're selling each 6.5 ounce 5 Cheese Frusta for $2.29, every day.  You'll find it in our freezers.
