100% Kauai Coffee

February 3rd—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.

Kauai, Hawaii's "garden isle", is well known for its vacation spots.  And its coffee beans.  Kauai's coffee, grown primarily on the leeward side of the island, is widely recognized as superb.  Prodigious amounts of rain, coupled with equally abundant sunshine and the island's rich, volcanic soils provide richness that is ideal for coffee cultivation.

Our buyer sourced Trader Joe's 100% Kauai Whole Bean Coffee from a single, 3,100 acre coffee estate.  The beans are Yellow Catuai Arabica beans, a variety with roots in Brazil.  They're known for their moderate acidity, full body, sweet, fruity aroma and tangy flavor.  After harvest, they're moved to the estate's processing facility within two hours. There they're pulped, dried, and milled.  After roasting to a medium-dark hue, this 100% Kauai Whole Bean Coffee is shipped directly to Trader Joe's.  Some people call this "vertical integration".  We call it the best way to get the freshest coffee, from one of the world's best coffee growing regions.  We're selling each 10 ounce bag of Trader Joe’' 100% Kauai Whole Bean Coffee for $6.99, every day.
