Single Serve Cups

February 3rd—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.

Perhaps we should clarify.  We’re not selling cups in the mugs or demitasse sense.  Rather, Trader Joe’s Coffee Cups are little cups that include both ground coffee and filter in one neat little package that fits snugly into your Keurig K-Cup ® coffee maker.   We waited quite a while to get into this whole “single serve” business, because we wanted to make sure we got it right.  And with our package of 7 Single Serve Cups, we think we did, indeed, get it right.

Our Single Serve Cups have some distinct advantages over the others you might have tried.  First, we've put together an excellent blend of Arabica beans and given them a lovely medium roast, so you get a cup of coffee that's a bit sweet, wonderfully rich, and  finishes with smooth caramel notes.  Additionally, when you break open each cup's outer seal you'll be able to see the filter and smell the coffee.  Each cup is kept fresh in its nitrogen-flushed package, and when it's opened, you know right away this is going to be an excellent cup of coffee.  And finally, our Single Serve Cups are fully recyclable.  Once you've brewed your coffee, dump out the coffee grounds on your acid-loving plants (things like roses, hydrangeas, rhododendrons, even tomatoes), and add the cup to your recycling bin.  This is the improvement we waited for - we're so glad we waited.

Oh, and one final advantage of Trader Joe's 7 Single Serve Cups.  We're selling each box of seven for $2.99.  That's less than 43 cents a cup, a price you'll definitely recognize as a serious value if you’ve shopped for them elsewhere.  You'll find them in our coffee & tea section.
