Cultivated Coffee Collection

January 8th—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.

For coffee lovers, we present the opportunity to travel to some of the world's most renowned coffee-growing regions, choose among the best beans from each region, and return home carrying the cream of that crop into your kitchen.  The catch, you ask?  No catch, really, except that the actual traveling part has been taken care of, the sourcing of the beans has been accomplished, and the ground coffee transported as far as your neighborhood Trader Joe's in the form of Trader Joe's Cultivated Coffee Collection for the Armchair Traveler.

Inside each 18 ounce package (three six ounce bags of ground coffee) you"ll find high quality Arabica coffee from Kenya, Peru, and Vietnam.  In each region, our coffee buyers searched for beans that exemplified the best characteristics of that country's coffee cultivation.  From Kenya, known as the home of some of the world's finest Arabica beans, we have coffee grown on the plateaus of Mt. Kenya, whose high elevation & acidic soil provide ideal growing conditions.  We've given the coffee a medium roast, highlighting its sweet acidity and full, fruity body.  Moving to the high altitudes of Peru, these Arabica beans are grown on approximately 200,000 small farms, and we've selected from the best.  We've given the beans a medium-dark roast, resulting in a light-bodied, smooth, balanced cup.  And finally, we traveled to Vietnam.  Known primarily for its Robusta beans, Vietnam has more recently become a player in the high quality Arabica bean arena.  We've given these Vietnamese Arabica beans a dark roast, which produces a cup of coffee that's rich and pleasantly smoky, without any bitterness.

The Cultivated Coffee Collection for the Armchair Traveler makes a gracious gift for the coffee lovers in your life, and it's so affordably priced, you can gift it to yourself, as well. We're selling each 18 ounce package (three six ounce bags of ground coffee) for $9.99.
