Apple Cinnamon Goat Cheese

Apple Cinnamon Goat Cheese

October 7th—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.

While contemplating chèvre (yes, we often do such things), it occurred to us that there was a fall flavor favorite that wasn't represented in our cheese case.  It simultaneously occurred to us that we had the power to change that.  And so, complementing our traditional goat cheese offerings, as well as our Blueberry Vanilla option and our seasonally available Cranberry variety, this year we are pleased to introduce Trader Joe's Apple Cinnamon Goat Cheese.

The inspiration for Apple Cinnamon Goat Cheese was none other than good old fashioned, all-American apple pie.  It's made for us by a Canadian dairy in the heart of the Kawartha Lakes in southern Ontario, using fresh, rich goats' milk.  The tangy chèvre is blended with sweet apples, and then each log is coated -- by hand -- with a sweet-savory blend of dried apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg.  Sliced, on a cheeseboard, it makes a striking impression.  Crumbled into salads, it’s a sweet-tangy addition.  Every bite is both sweet and tart, and brings to mind apple pie, apple cheesecake, and even apple Danish.  This is what contemplating chévre can accomplish!

We're selling each eight ounce Apple Cinnamon Goat Cheese for $4.49, throughout the autumn season.  You'll find it in our cheese case.
