A Taste of India In Trader Joe's Freezers

We're having a bit of an Indian cuisine enlightenment in our freezer cases. We just can’t seem to get enough of the curry-infused flavor profiles that make up the authentic Indian recipes being crafted just for us. Trader Joe's Palak Paneer is one of the newest entrants to our enlightened freezers.

Palak Paneer is spinach, cooked well and pureed to a smooth consistency, blended with traditional Indian spices (think curry and chili), then added to chunks of paneer cheese, a soft, mild, fresh cheese common in Indian cuisine. Ours is similar to what you might find in many Indian restaurants, with a few important differences. One, it's consistently delicious, with the mildly flavored spinach and paneer perfectly complemented by the piquant regional spices. Two, you can keep it in your freezer for whenever the mood strikes — essential for when a craving strikes at midnight and there's not an open Indian kitchen to be found. And three, our price is simply amazing — $2.99 for each 10 ounce container. Add your favorite rice or naan and you have an Indian dinner in minutes, at a terrific everyday value. Only at your neighborhood Trader Joe's.
