Mixed Nut Butter

March 16, 2017 in Category: What's New

Remember the Mixed Nuts canister that actually contained a spring-coil snake gag; you pop the top open and the “snake” jumps out at you? Or how about the 1994 comedy of the same name? For the real film buff, you might be thinking of the 1922 silent film starring a pre-comedy-duo fame Stan Laurel.

Right now, when you think of mixed nuts, we’d like you to think of actual nuts. Actually, to be specific, we’d like to call your attention to Trader Joe’s Mixed Nut Butter, a nourishingly nutty blend of some of our favorite nuts.

Other products throughout our store tell of our love of nut butters (see Peanut Butter [various], and Almond Butter [various] and even Tahini—though we’ll concede seeds are not really the same as nuts, the intent is similar). It recently occurred to us that grinding some of our favorites together could yield delicious results. Oh, boy, did it ever!

In the jar is a one-of-a-kind mix of almonds, cashews, walnuts, Brazil nuts, hazelnuts, and pecans, with just a bit of sea salt to round out the flavors (and we do mean “just a bit,” as each serving contains a mere 35mg of sodium). The nuts are dry roasted, then ground together into creamy bliss. Spread on sandwiches, celery sticks, or used in recipes, you’ll love the rich, nutty nature of this Butter.

We’ve tasted other multi-nut butters, but none with our particular blend of nuts. In fact, some included added sugars or honey; we found the nuts naturally sweet enough that they didn’t need any further sweetening.

We have sweetened the deal a bit with our price, though. We’re selling each 12-ounce jar of Mixed Nut Butter for $5.99, every day. You’ll find it with our other nut butters.
