Ancient Grains and Nuts Granola

March 21, 2017 in Category: What's New

Over 50 years, Trader Joe’s has seen a lot of changes. So many innovative products have come and gone, cycling through with the shifting preferences of our customers, and the larger cultural trends. As much as the product names and packages have changed, the overall quality of our products has remained the same. Our granola offers a great example of this. We continue to reformulate this classic food for new tastes, but it’s still just great granola—something we’ve carried since close to the start.

In Trader Joe’s Ancient Grains and Nut Granola we’ve enhanced the regular rolled oats with a host of grains, including: buckwheat, quinoa, chia seeds, teff, and amaranth. (Ancient Grains are the perfect example of ‘what comes around goes around.’) We’ve held on to the anticipated almonds and added more crunch with cashews and walnuts; and some flavorful seeds, including pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds. Coconut pieces and coconut oil round out these flavors.

Eschewing the expected honey, we weave it all together with sweetness derived from brown rice syrup and Turbinado sugar—while still maintaining only 8 grams of sugar per ¾ cup serving. Each serving of this kosher Granola also contains 5 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber.

Snack on it right out of the bag, or enjoy it in a bowl with milk. Or, change things up with a bowl of Goat’s Milk Yogurt, drizzling a fair amount of Organic Fair Trade Raw Honey on top.

Though our product selection may change with the times, the quality our customers enjoy remains the same. Pick up your 12-ounce, resealable bag of Trader Joe’s Ancient Grains and Nut Granola for $3.49, and experience again the steadfast value of Trader Joe’s.
