Sweetened Dried Lemon Slices

November 05, 2017 in Category: What's New

When life gives you lemons... slice them up and eat them! Of course, plain, unadorned lemons can be challenging on the palate - they’re tart, sour, puckery, and not all taste buds find them appealing. We’ve found a sweet solution to this citrus conundrum: sweeten the slices, dry them to a delectably balanced level of moisture, and, finally, enjoy the fruits of your... fruit.

Trader Joe’s Sweetened Dried Lemon Slices are just that, slices of tart lemon, sweetened with cane sugar and air-dried. Even though these are “dried fruit,” they’re really not “dry.” They’re magically moist, almost juicy-tasting, soft & chewy, still a bit tart, yet sweet enough to eat as a snack, rind and all – even if you’d never consider eating a slice of plain old lemon.

But Trader Joe, what on earth do I do with these Sweetened Dried Lemon Slices? Oh, there are so many ways to enjoy them! Decorate a lemon cake or lemon-poppyseed muffins. Cut a small wedge into one side of a slice, and adorn your cocktail or iced tea glass with one of these rounds – you probably don’t eat the lemon garnish on most drinks; you’re going to want to eat these. You could even coarsely chop them and add them to a lemon scone or lemon pudding recipe to really amp up the lemony love.

We’re selling each 4.4 ounce package of Sweetened Dried Lemon Slices for $2.99, every day, a price that amps up our love of value. You’ll find them in our nuts and dried fruit section.
