Hurricane Relief Efforts:
How We Can Help Together

September 08, 2017

Many of our customers have asked how they can help Trader Joe’s Crew Members impacted by Hurricane Harvey. We can’t thank you enough for your concern and generosity. This is just another example of why Trader Joe’s customers are the best. However, we are making sure our Crew Members are cared for and kindly ask that you focus your donations and support on the broader Hurricane Relief Effort.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Trader Joe’s has created a Crew Member Relief Fund to support Crew Members who sustained significant personal loss during Hurricane Harvey, with the company matching all Crew Member donations, up to $1 million. In addition, we have donated truckloads of fresh produce, water and nonperishable items, totaling more than $200,000, to a number of Texas agencies and organizations, and have pledged to continue to donate $100,000 in products to the Texas area, on a weekly basis, as needed.

In anticipation of Hurricane Irma’s arrival and potential impact, Trader Joe’s has begun donating water to areas in need in Florida. In the past year, Trader Joe’s has contributed close to $18 million of products to food banks and other charitable groups in Texas and Florida, through its Neighborhood Shares program, which benefits organizations, neighborhoods and people in need.

Thank you for joining us in this effort.
