Happy Anniversary, Charles Shaw!

Hard to believe that Charles Shaw Wines have been available at Trader Joe’s for 15 years. Yet, it’s true. Fifteen years since we first introduced what would quickly be dubbed “Two Buck Chuck” by wine drinkers across the country. Fifteen years since the world went a bit bonkers for these crazy-value-priced bottles of wine. In that time, we’ve sold close to a billion bottles of the various varietals. Yes, you read that right: abillion bottles! We’re not there yet; but we’re this close. Depending on what’s available at any given time, you can expect to find Charles Shaw ChardonnayMerlotCabernet SauvignonShirazSauvignon Blanc,Pinot Grigio, and White Zinfandel in our wine section.

So what’s the big deal about Charles Shaw? Why have these wines struck a chord with wine drinkers across the land? We think it’s simple. We think they’ve proven – consistently, over a decade and a half – that wine doesn’t need to be expensive to be good, drinkable, and enjoyable. These are not expensive; they are good, they’re very drinkable, and we’ll attest to their eminent enjoyability as well! Across the country, Charles Shaw Wines are known for these qualities. Two Buck Chuck has also become shorthand for “a not-pricey bottle of wine you’ll actually want to drink.” We’re selling each 750ml bottle of each varietal for at a great value*, every day. This small price is a very big value, and one you’ll find only at your neighborhood Trader Joe’s.
