Meet Hal!
An eclectic foodie and self-described "ham," Hal lists Yoga, Pilates, hiking, traveling and exploring Mayan ruins as his hobbies! So how did this multi-faceted world traveler come to settle in at Trader Joe's? "My wife and I have been shopping at TJ's for years and one day, when I was unemployed, we saw a sign looking for a part time Food Demonstrator. I've loved cooking since I was a kid and at the urging of my wife I applied. Several interviews later I was hired. Serendipity."

What's a typical day as a food demonstrator at Trader Joe's? "My day starts out prepping my demo station for the day - cleaning and setting up...having a fun time with my customers and sharing food ideas and answering questions about our products and cooking in general. Then it's breaking down and cleaning up for the next shift and getting ready to do it all over again."

A typical day for Gino goes like this, "I get in as early as possible, usually by 4a.m., so I have plenty of time to finish my artwork by opening time. I check for notes left for me about displays that are coming up or requests for signs. If I'm working on a chalkboard, I work up a rough sketch, clean a board and dive right in! Otherwise I work on making shelf signs and making sure all the signs are in good condition and priced correctly."
