Here just in time for Pumpkin Season, and gone again as quickly as Charlie Brown's balance at a football game, Trader Joe's Pumpkin Macarons are traditional, French-style pastries with a very American twist. Pumpkin, of course.
Like the other macarons you'll find in our freezers, Pumpkin Macarons are smallish, round, sandwich cookies. A common – if indulgent – finding in French pâtisseries, macarons (mak-ah-ROHNS) have become common finds in American bake-shops, and staples of the freezer case here at Trader Joe's. Each macaron features two naturally-pumpkin-flavored cookies that are simultaneously chewy (inside) and crispy (outside). The cookies are sandwiched together with a pumpkin custard filling that’s been perfectly seasoned with pumpkin pie spices. They're really, really, really good. Pumpkin promise.
We spent several months perfecting these Parisian-influenced, American-inspired cookies, and our supplier is only making them for Trader Joe's. You'll find each 4.6 ounce box of 12 Pumpkin Macarons in our freezers for $4.99.
