Chai means “tea,” so that must mean this is a “tea-flavored” coffee, right? Well, no. In this case, chai refers to the spices and flavors commonly associated with the beverage we call Chai Tea here in the U.S. Still with us? Great.
Trader Joe’s Vanilla Chai-Spiced Coffee starts with fine Arabica beans from Brazil that are treated to a smooth, medium-dark roast. Then we add the all natural spices and seasonings: vanilla, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and ginger. All of these are ground together with the coffee, so it’s infused with the spices. It’s delicious hot or iced. Combine it with ice and give it a whirl through your blender to make a frothy summertime coffee treat. We’re selling each 14 ounce can of Vanilla Chai-Spiced Coffee for $7.99, every day.
