For all those times you’ve eaten a chocolate-almond candy bar and wished you could spread it on a slice of bread, Trader Joe’s Cocoa Almond Spread is finally here to make your deepest wishes come true. Our supplier has been crafting this spread since 1955, so there has been plenty of time to perfect the recipe for Trader Joe’s. The 3rd generation of this family company is now making the Cocoa Almond Spread that you’ll find on the grocery shelves in our stores. They use quality Belgian cocoa and whole, fresh almonds, and the resulting spread is smooth in both texture and flavor. The cocoa is rich and mellow, and the almonds are just perfect, if we do say so ourselves. Some chocolate-nut spreads go very heavy on the nuts – while you can definitely taste the almonds in this one, they play nicely with the cocoa, so the flavors complement each other, rather than one flavor overwhelming the profile.
We like Cocoa Almond Spread on toast or bagels, of course. It adds wow to your waffles, and it’s an excellent partner to apple & pear slices. Try it in place of frosting between cake layers, or add a spoonful to a cup of yogurt. You’ll like the price of $3.99 for each 13 ounce jar… almost as much as you like the Spread itself
