Turbinado Raw Cane Sugar

Turbin-what? That's Turbinado, a naturally sweet cane sugar that's crystalline and rich with molasses. Trader Joe's Fair Trade* Turbinado Sugar is made by crushing freshly cut sugar cane to squeeze out all the molasses-rich juice, where all the natural vitamins and minerals lie. That juice is then heated, and as the liquid evaporates, crystals remain. Those crystals are then spun in a centrifuge, or turbine, to separate any remaining juice from the crystals—these turbines give Turbinado its name.
So, let's review… crush, heat, spin. That's the process used to make this sugar. No chemical refining, no coloring, and no blending with other sugars. Just crush, heat & spin. Try Trader Joe's Fair Trade Turbinado Sugar in coffee or tea, or sprinkled atop muffins, cakes and pies. Each 24 ounce resealable bag is $3.49, a tremendous value for this certified fair trade, certified kosher, and certified delicious sugar.
*Fair Trade means that farmers have been paid a fair price for their crop.
