Fresh Soups - East Coast, Midwest, West Coast

Chicken Barley & Vegetable Soup, Minestrone Soup, & Lentil SoupFebruary 6, 2012 - Fearlessly Archived - Still a fun read, price & availability may have changed.

Who doesn't love soup?  Especially in the dead of winter. Like now. We've recently made the creation of fresh soups a priority because there's nothing like a piping hot bowl of fresh, hearty soup to warm you on the inside when it's cold outside. From that priority some pretty darn delicious soups have been born, among them, Trader Joe's Chicken, Barley & Vegetable Soup, Trader Joe's Lentil with Ancient Grains Soup and Trader Joe's Hearty Minestrone Soup.

These aren't just any old soups. These are next-best-thing-to-homemade soups. Our stocks are made from scratch. We source our fresh vegetables from local suppliers. We cook in small batches.  And we add each ingredient to the pot at exactly the right time. This is important, because when making soups, the success of the finished product is all about layering the flavors—and this takes time. Chicken, Barley & Vegetable Soup features veggies like carrots, zucchini and broccoli, as well as tender chunks of chicken and plenty of barley. Lentil with Ancient Grains Soup is a satisfying blend of lentils, quinoa and amaranth in a savory broth. Hearty Minestrone Soup is teeming with veggies in a tomato-based broth, plus a bounty of navy beans, brown rice and copious amounts of herbs and spices.

All of these fresh-from-the-kitchen soups come in 20 ounce containers that will serve two. Each is equally delicious and a mere $2.99, every day. You’ll find them in our refrigerated case*.

*At this time these soups are only available in the East Coast, Midwest & West Coast regions.
