Grilled Jerk Chicken Skewers with Mango Chutney

August 15th, 2016—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.

There’s a cookout on your weekend agenda, and with everything else you have to do, you just don’t have the time to marinate and prepare a main course. Or maybe it’s a Wednesday and you’re coming off a long day at work, and you want a delicious and well-seasoned dinner without spending hours in the kitchen or going out to a restaurant. [We’ve all been there.] Trader Joe’s Grilled Jerk Chicken Thigh Skewers with Mango Chutney can get you through either of these situations, deliciously.

Jerk chicken originated in Jamaica, and this rendition is seasoned for us with a variety of spices, including black pepper and chili, as well as sweet fruits like oranges and peaches. It’s deeply seasoned without being particularly spicy, easy to enjoy as a center-of-the-plate entrée, on a salad, or as an appetizer. The chicken breast meat is threaded through wooden skewers and fully cooked, then frozen so you can have them on-hand when you want something that tastes great and time is of the essence. Speaking of great-tasting, we’ve included a tart, tangy, chunky Mango Chutney with these Jerk Chicken Skewers. The flavors of Mango Chutney are excellent jerk companions, and here they can be used as a dipping sauce, a glaze, or even a component of a salad dressing.

We’re selling each 13.5 ounce package of Grilled Jerk Chicken Thigh Skewers with Mango Chutney (containing six Skewers) for $5.49. You’ll find them in our freezer case.
