Espiral Vinho Verde

Espiral Vinho Verde

February 1, 2016—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.

Take heed, wine-loving friends: there’s more to Portuguese wines than Port. Much more. We love the rich, robust nature of a good Port (and we have a good selection in our stores), but we also know there are plenty of other good wines produced in Portugal, many of which come from a region in the northwest called Vinho Verde

Vinho Verde literally means “green wine,” referring to the youthful character of wines with this appellation. Our exclusive Espiral Vinho Verde is a grand example. It’s young and peppy with a crisp acidity that derives from grapes that are harvested before they’re fully ripe. This wine bears a light sparkle, and it features refreshing green apple and melon flavors. Espiral Vinho Verde’s vibrancy, combined with its lower alcohol content (9% ABV), suggest that it may be the perfect warm weather quaff.

Never mind that it’s the middle of winter… crank up the heater, grill up some fish or chicken, and enjoy a chilled, filled glass. Espiral isn’t a wine to think too much about; it’s a wine to enjoy, as our customers have for many years.

We’re selling each 750ml bottle of Espiral Vinho Verde for $4.49*, every day.
