August 18, 2014—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.
Trader Joe's Petit Reserve Chardonnay Napa Valley is made exclusively for us with grapes grown in the Napa Valley. Napa Chardonnay typically commands prices starting in the $10-$12 range, but we were able to negotiate a price on this wine that allows us to offer it for a mere $6.99 a bottle. How? The winemaker had inventory they had to move out. We really liked the wine. And we wanted all of it. Right away. Thus, a win-win for everyone involved, and thus, the excellent price. We've worked with this winemaker in the past on similar projects, and as in times past, the value here is exceptional.
TJ Petite Reserve Chardonnay Napa Valley is crisp and fresh, with notes of white peach, apple, lemon, and vanilla. Excellent as an aperitif, it pairs well with myriad dishes, including shellfish, pasta salads, and grilled chicken. We've looked around, and we haven't found a Napa Chardonnay this good anywhere close to our price of $6.99* a bottle. At this price, it won't last forever.
* TJ’s Reserve 2012 Petite Chardonnay is currently available in Trader Joe's stores where wine is sold. It is $7.99 plus tax unless otherwise noted here: CA: $6.99. Alcohol availability & price may vary due to state laws, taxes, shipment fees & other such stuff. (If we could, we would.)
