Wicked big. Hugenormous. Awesome. In the end, it was purely a practical decision to call these Trader Joe's Jumbo Black Raisins. They're made from Lindy grapes, a variety known for its near-gargantuan size - some as large as an inch in length. The grapes are picked late in the growing season, when they've had ample opportunity to develop their natural sugars, and this results in a super-moist, super-sweet raisin. How sweet? While typical raisins have a sugar, or brix level, of about 15-18, our Jumbo Black Raisins have a brix level of 20-22. Our price is pretty sweet, too. We're selling each 16 ounce bag for $3.49. You'll find them in our nut & dried fruit section.
