April 28th—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.
Beer. Bier. Olut. Birra. Cerveja. Cerveza. Yes, cerveza, that's the translation we were after. Trader José cerveza, to be exact.
Here's our story. For years, we searched for an independent brewery in Mexico with whom we could create a beer-crafting partnership. Problem is, a couple of big Mexican breweries have a virtual monopoly on the market, so there didn't seem to be a way in. We kept searching, though, until we finally found a small, independent brewer eager to create high quality Mexican beer, without being part of that monopoly. Lucky for all involved, this brewer was also eager to partner with an American retailer interested in high quality Mexican beer at a tremendous value. And so, Trader José Beers were born. Such serendipia!
Trader José Premium Lager will remind you of those big names, at a fraction of the price. Pale straw in color, lightly fragrant & spritzy, and full-bodied in flavor, this brew is ideal for a hot day when thirst quenching is a priority. Trader José Light Premium Lager is a golden-hued, all malt, handcrafted brew. It's smooth and slightly bitter, with only 3.8% alcohol and a mere 120 calories in every bottle. And Trader José Dark Premium Lager is a pilsner, brewed with roasted malt to achieve its dark amber color and malt-over-hop flavor and sweet finish. We're selling each of these Mexican imports in 6-packs of 11.2 ounce bottles for $4.99* each, every day, plus deposit where applicable. ¡Salud!
