Trader Joe's Steel Cut Oatmeal & Quinoa is a blend of traditional, Irish-style steel cut oatmeal (45%) and quinoa (55%), slow cooked with real maple syrup & brown sugar to give it a subtle yet distinctive sweetness. It tastes like nuttier oatmeal - nothing to complain about there. If you've cooked steel cut oats from scratch, you know it can take quite a while (about 45 minutes) to make. Ours is cooked and frozen into a puck-like shape, so it cooks in just a couple of minutes in the microwave - remember to remove it from its package and pop it in a bowl before you heat it. Top it with fresh or dried fruit, chopped nuts, or even a dollop or two of Greek yogurt for a satisfying breakfast or lunch or dinner or snack - whenever you eat it, you're sure to enjoy it.
