March 17th—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.
We save our Trader Joe's Reserve label for wines we think are really special. Wines that are exceptional examples of a particular varietal. Wines that would cost significantly more if you bought them anywhere else. Trader Joe's Reserve Zinfandel Paso Robles 2012 Lot #84 more than lives up to all these expectations.
The wine comes to us directly from the growers, who also happen to be the winemakers. The Zinfandel grapes are estate grown, taken from premium blocks on the property. It's everything you expect from a quality California Zin - bold and fruit driven, with juicy raspberry, boysenberry and black cherry notes, it lingers on your palate with firm tannins and that much-anticipated peppery finish.
You could expect to spend upwards of $17 for a bottle of Paso Robles Zin of this quality. If, that is, you were shopping somewhere else. At Trader Joe's, though, our Reserve wines are always a tremendous value, and they're always available in limited quantities. This one's no exception. We're selling each 750ml bottle of Trader Joe's Reserve Zinfandel Paso Robles 2012 Lot #84 for the fantastic price of $9.99, while it lasts.
*TJs Reserve Paso Robles Zin lot 84 is currently available in Trader Joe's stores where wine is sold. It is $9.99 (plus tax). Alcohol availability & price may vary due to state laws, taxes, shipment fees & other such stuff. (If we could, we would.)
